Nikitas Angelakis became a founding member of SEKA.PL.AS-PIEY (Association of Greek Manufacturers of Polyester and Other Vessels, Accessories, Equipment, Trade and Services) in 1978. Since then, he has been actively dealing with the rights of the abovementioned professional sector.
From 1990 to 2011, he was elected member of the Board of Directors as well as president of SEKA.PL.AS-PIEY.

He began his professional career in 1954, when he graduated from the Royal Technical School of Leros. At the same time, he manufactured and sold his first wooden boat in Sitia, his birthplace.
Later, he worked next to Psaros and Glaros, two well-known Greek boat manufacturers and built big and small wooden boats, mainly high-speed ones.
In 1964, he began building large fiberglass boats with hulls made of plywood. Hence, he is known as a leading and pioneer manufacturer of fiberglass vessels.
In 1967, he built a series of fishing boats, made exclusively from fiberglass.
In 1988, Michalis Angelakis, having studied design and free-hand design, built a series of speedboats.
